StudioSilog is an independent design studio led by Chris Abueg, based in the San Francisco bay area.

My very first design project was an invitation for my friend's fundraiser. They were a DACA recipient, fighting to stay in the country. The night of the event, the room was full of people who showed up for my friend. Design has been how I show up for my community ever since.

That community has grown. StudioSilog, my studio in the Bay Area, has worked with a community land trust in Richmond, UC Berkeley, a new early childhood education college, and a national climate resilience network. I build brand identities and websites, then the reports, decks, and templates that carry them into everyday work.

I'm an artist by training and a researcher by temperament. I studied fine art at The Cooper Union, started out in exhibition graphics at the Brooklyn Museum, and was a senior designer at SDG before starting my own studio. Before I design anything, I want to understand your work: who it's for, where it's headed, and what hasn't worked before. I ask a lot of questions. The answers become the design.

The studio is named after silog, my favorite Filipino breakfast: garlic rice and egg, paired with something different every time. A steady base, made new for each table. Pull up a chair. Tell me what you're working on.
